Joe DiMaggio appears in twelve close-ups (and several other distant shots). Each image is captioned with the slugger's narrated text. "This city wasn't built by frightened people. And frightened people won't save it. Cities do dies. Today, we have a choice. We can choose whether New York lives or dies. Chose life. Like the tides around it, New York rises and falls. Looks like the tide's up. We're gonna be all right." A telling memorial to the troubles in 1970s New York.
