Kennedy. February 14, 1923." Kennedy (1879-1963) was Assistant Professor of Modern History in the University of Toronto, where MacIver (1882-1970) was Professor of Political Science (he was later president of the New School for Social Research). Kennedy's early constitutional scholarship argued against the concept of the nation state as applied in the Canadian context" (Wikipedia).
