First edition. The dedication copy to his wife Constance, inscribed in pencil by Masefield ten days before publication date: "For Con from Jan, 8 Oct: 1943. (Pub. 18th)." As usual with Masefield the printed dedication is simply: "To My Wife." The book is an autobiographical poem tracing the first six years of the poet's life. With the posthumous Masefield bookplate.
