Presumably bound by the editor for presentation in crimson simulated leather, titled on front cover and spine, original printed wrappers bound in. Some light wear and occasional toning of wrappers and sheets, endpapers browned, slightest wear at extremities of binding. Item #406754

Consecutive run of the first two volumes of this Arab-American journal, presentation copy from the editor, inscribed on the half-title: "To my own dearest Mitchel [Hadad] from George." Hadad (d. 1981) immigrated from Syria in 1904; he was vice president of the Collegiate Manufacturing Company and active in Middle Eastern affairs. He founded the Salaam Club of New York to aid the Lebanese-Syrian business community. In 1960, he was awarded the Syrian Government's highest civilian honor for his efforts toward United States-Middle East cooperation. Vol. I, no 4 includes Kheirallah's life of Gibran Khalil Gibran. Gibran's 'The Procession' appears in Vol. II, no. 1. Rabindranath Tagore's poem "The Great Equality" appears in the last volume.
