Copies of the catalogue were never offered for sale. Fisher, born to a wealthy Sussex family, spent his entire fortune on the acquisition of early engravings and woodcuts, an activity to which he dedicated sixty years of his life. Dyson Perrins acquired the library en bloc before it was to be sold by Fisher's son, R.C. Fisher, at Sotheby's, 21 May 1906. De Ricci gives only a passing reference to Fisher and his collection.
