An extensive study, well-illustrated, of the liver and biliary diseases by University of Berlin Professor of Clinical Medicine, Fr. Theodor von Frerichs. He made several contributions to medical science, notably for his research of kidney and liver diseases. He published the first German textbook of nephrology, and performed microscopic research of Bright's disease. Originally published in German, this edition was translated by Louis Duménil and J. Pellagot.
