First edition. The dedication copy, inscribed on the front free endpaper: "March 25th 1938 / Margaret Herzog (Otherwise known as Peggy.) / For Elizabeth, to whom this was dedicated!" The printed dedication reads: "To Elizabeth With Love and Gratitude." This was Herzog's second novel, a romance, following her first ('Two's Company') and numerous short stories in the Saturday Evening Post, Ladies' Home Journal, and the Woman's Home Companion.
