This scarce Manhattan atlas is broken down into wards, useful for fire companies to identify particular buildings and their relative risk of hazards. In tiny but quite legible type are given the dimensions of each building. Accompanying the atlas is a hand-drawn key map of Manhattan, showing the entire island and keyed by its maker to identify the wards byh number and therefore make finding them in the volume easier.
