Autograph letter signed, Bedford St., 13 December 1843. Two pages, 4to. Reading:

"Dear Theoph.
I should like to have an advertisement in the
Daily of tomorrow & two successive days
Volume II
of
Prescott's Conquest of Mexico
Now received, & for sale
at the Bookstores in this city
Can't it be set on the head of the Column for Books
& the types of the size the -- & that width of lines?
It is to be charged to me - as I do it the publishers I send you the extracts for the Morning Post & the Transcript. & this afternoon I shall send you the vols of the Conquest which I beg you to accept from me.
It is the only way in which I can show my sense of your kindness to me. & I can't bear to feel or appear unmindful of a friends good offices.

"Dear Parsons
That impertinent Leh ? Club will knock at your door on Tuesday evy next.

I've taken your counsel & forwarded a copy of my book to London. & a day or two shall need a letter for Col. Aspenwak informing him, that Mr. Bentley has agreed to purchase an edition of the work aprising Col A. that "it would be an object with him to bring out the book in elegant style with vignettes portraits, & other attractive embellishments." - I believe I could not come out under better auspices. The kind interest you have taken - Late of my little cock-boat (?) will excuse my talking about myself so much.
