FIRST EDITION. First hand observations of the fur trade during its heyday. "Parker accompanied a fur-trading party, in 1835, from Council Bluffs to Walla Walla" (Graff). The map is the "earliest map of the Oregon interior with a pretense of accuracy." Wheat states that the map "represented a real advance, and it was made from personal observations."
