FIRST EDITION. Following Blunt's ground-breaking survey of Poussin's work, presented as a Mellon Lecture of 1958, he was appointed to organize the major exhibition of Poussin's ouevre held at the Louvre in 1960. This publication synthesizes the lectures, further studies, and knowledge gained throughout the course of the exhibition. Blunt was director of the Courtauld, and Slade Professor both at Oxford and Cambridge.
